To Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, we suggest you follow Singapore's lead and withdraw Sabah from Malaysia Federation!

DR JEFFREY KITINGAN, we suggest you follow Singapore's lead and withdraw Sabah (and this goes for Sarawak too) from the useless Malaysia Federation

Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, one of Sabah's leading political activists and chief of Sabah's STAR political party, is very wrong to believe that Sabah's continuing membership in the Malaysia Federation (controlled by Kuala Lumpur's Barisan Nasional party) will improve Sabah's rights as an independent state.

After 50 years of lies, of manipulations, of thievery, does Dr Jeffrey Kitingan still believe the promises of Kuala Lumpur?

In a report, Dr Kitingan himself listed all the points of misadventure that Sabah encountered ever since Kuala Lumpur annexed Sabah illegaly in 1963 -- and this is with no letup. So, how then can he begin to believe that after 50 years, Kuala Lumpur will agree to put Sabah and Sarawak under a single umbrella "to secure their future under the Federation of Malaysia."

So, Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, the right way forward if you really want Sabah to secure its future is for Sabah to withdraw from the Malaysia Federation. While Sabah is under Kuala Lumpur control, Sabah will remain exploited, poor and backward, its wealth extracted not for the improvement of the people of Sabah nor of the province but to spruce the cities of Peninsular Malaysia and to fatten up Kuala Lumpur politicians.

Take the lead of Singapore. If Singapore had remained in the Malaysia Federation, it would still be just a huge backwater kampung...

KOTA KINABALU: It is time for the people and political parties in Sabah and Sarawak to unite under a single umbrella to better safeguard their rights and to secure their future under the Federation of Malaysia.

STAR Sabah chief Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan in making the call stressed that this is necessary, citing that ever since the formation of Malaysia in 1963, and the pulling out of Singapore from the Federation in 1965, the position of Sabah and Sarawak has been eroded and rights taken away.

He said through a series of subtle and not-so-subtle manipulation by the Federation of Malaya and their political leaders in Kuala Lumpur, the position of Sabah and Sarawak had become weakened.

“The list of wrong-doings is long and ever-growing,” Jeffrey (photo) claimed.

Among them are the Malaysia Agreement was not implemented and thrown down the drain; The 20-Points have not been complied with;
